You’re in for a treat with Rebecca’s book rec, Stuffed. She pitches the cookbook to us, summarizing, “The recipes in Stuffed: The Sandwich Cookie Book are creative, gorgeous, and bake-shop-worthy but are also very accessible for the home baker.”

If you’ve ever read a cookbook and gotten frustrated at the so-called “easy” instructions and ingredients that practically require a culinary degree and a second income, then this book may be for you! Rebecca laments about this, saying, “Lots of cookbooks have esoteric ingredients that you have to order online or hunt down in a specialty grocery store and procedures that need equipment you may not have. Lots of cookbooks also have recipes that aren’t explained well (and sometimes don’t turn out well).” However, she assures us, “Stuffed has ingredients that you can find anywhere, but that doesn’t mean they’re boring flavor combinations. The author gives clear directions along with explanations to help your cookies turn out just as good looking as the ones in the (many) photos.”

Indeed, even just looking at the cover image is enough to cause an intense cookie craving!

In addition to the attainable nature of these recipes, Rebecca also says it was enjoyable to read for its writing. “I love to read cookbooks, even if I never make one of the recipes,” she comments. “I enjoy cookbooks whose tone is, ‘I’m showing you how talented I am by making these exquisite desserts and sharing the recipes,’ but this cookbook reads like a skilled friend telling you, ‘Yes, they’re amazing cookies but it’s not rocket-science. Let me show you how to do it.'”

However, before trying out any of the recipes, know this:

“One warning, eating sandwich cookies is not for the faint of heart and small batches are plenty,” Rebecca says. “When I baked mine, I found that one cookie is like a whole dessert; it’s very, very filling. Probably the reason for the title, Stuffed! I put this cookbook on my gift list and hope to add it to my personal collection.”
