Happy holidays, all! Brittany from Youth Services is recommending How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney?, a picture book written by Mac Barnett and illustrated by Jon Klassen. Read all about it in today’s blog post.

From the picture book dynamic duo Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen (both all-stars of children’s lit) comes How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney?, a hilarious pondering of Christmas Eve logistics.

“When I read this for the first time a few weeks ago, I immediately liked it,” Brittany tells us. “This book asks all the important questions that we want to know. Like, how does Santa do it? What’s his secret? We may never get the answers, but it’s fun to speculate.”

How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney? was just published in September, and it’s been a popular read so far this holiday season both among families and our library staff.

“What makes Barnett and Klassen so successful at what they do is the comedic beat of their words and illustrations,” Brittany remarks. “Their imagination is really in-touch with childhood, and their work has a natural air of hilarity. Every page of this brings a smile to my face.”

Brittany concludes her recommendation by telling us, “If you like other books by Mac Barnett or Jon Klassen, then you’re sure to like this one, which is short, punchy, and festive.”

Thanks for the recommendation, Brittany!
