If you’re looking for a funny picture book, Hayley from Youth Services has an awesome recommendation: Chez Bob by Bob Shea! Keep reading to learn more about it.

Chez Bob (pronounced “shay,” and also a play on the author’s name) is a colorful story that will delight children and adults alike.
“The main character, a lazy alligator named Bob, opens up a birdseed restaurant on his nose to trick birds into coming close to him so he can eat them,” Hayley explains. “The birds enjoy his restaurant, Chez Bob, so much that they build a little town around it. Bob becomes so fond of the birds that when given an opportunity to eat them all, he struggles to decide what to do.”
Hayley has found Chez Bob to be a well-loved storytime read.
“I’ve read this book to some preschool classes, and not only did they like it and find it silly, but the teachers found humor in it, too. I also really love the illustrations!”
Bob Shea has also authored and illustrated other silly children’s books such as Crash, Splash, Moo!, Who Wet My Pants?, and Dinosaur Vs. Bedtime. Take a look on our catalog here to browse other books created by him.
Thanks for the recommendation, Hayley!
