This week kicks off our summer reading challenge, Oceans of Possibilities!
By logging your reading minutes and participating in activities, you earn smaller prizes along the way and tickets to enter our grand prize drawings! Each week, a new set of activities will be unlocked for you to complete. You have until July 31, 2022 to enter all your progress into Beanstack, because the winners for the grand prize drawings will be drawn August 1!

How does the reading challenge work?
To participate, first create a Beanstack account. You can learn how to do that here.
As you read, keep track of your minutes and enter them into your Beanstack account. There are different reading milestones along the way depending on your age group. When you reach a milestone, you automatically qualify for a small prize AND you earn a virtual ticket that you can enter for your age group’s grand prizes.
Additionally, each week there will be a new list of activities to complete, such as watching a documentary about the ocean or attending an event at Reed Memorial Library. If you complete 2 out of 3 of the activities, you earn a virtual “badge” and a virtual ticket to enter your age group’s grand prizes. If you miss a week, no worries! The activity badges will remain available to complete until the end of the entire challenge on July 31, so you have time to catch up if you need to.
If you are unable to create a Beanstack account, stop by the Youth Services desk and pick up a worksheet to log your minutes and progress towards activity badges. When you reach a milestone or wish to redeem a prize, bring your worksheets into the library and we’ll enter it into Beanstack for you.
