It all started in my childhood when I picked up my very first book…
Memoirs are on our mind, as our year-long Bookworm Reading Challenge is dedicating March to memoir and biography! If you haven’t heard of our Bookworm Challenge, learn all about it here and sign up on Beanstack.
A memoir is a book written about the author’s own experience, and a biography is a book written about someone else’s life. Both of these are considered nonfiction and are very popular genres. To give you a little boost on your Memoir/Biography Badge, we’ve compiled a list of books that you can read for credit in the Bookworm Challenge!
These are the reading prompts for the Memoir/Biography Badge. Remember, you only need to finish three out of five of these to earn the badge.
Youth Challenge Memoir/Biography Badge Prompts (Ages 0-17)
- Read a book with the word “me” in the title
- Read a book about a noteworthy person from Ohio
- Read about an author whose books you like
- Read a book about someone whose profession you are interested in (e.g., athlete, inventor, astronaut, fashion designer, artist, etc.)
- Read a book with a character or person’s name in the title
Adult Challenge Memoir/Biography Badge Prompts (Ages 18+)

Even if you’re not able to get all these done in March, that’s okay–you’ll have the rest of the year to catch up if you missed out or started late.
Now… Onto the memoir/biography book recs!
