Need a Passport? We Can Help!

Are  you headed on a trip this summer? Later this year? If the trip you are planning is outside the country, make sure you have a passport or that the one you have is up-to-date. If you need to renew your passport or get one for the first time, we can help!

Earlier this year, our staff were trained and the library became an official passport acceptance agency. This means that you can bring in your passport application and documents, have one of our staff review it, and if all is in order, we will submit it to the U.S. Department of State for you. Need to renew a passport? We can help with that, too.

Whether you’re renewing or applying for a U.S. passport for the first time, you’ll want to visit the Department of State’s passport web page first. The page has clear instructions that will help you determine what paperwork to fill out and the documents you will need to submit for citizenship evidence. If you need help downloading and printing your paperwork, stop in and we will help with that, too.

We do not take passport photos at the library. Most stores with photo labs will take your passport photo or you can take it yourself (just make certain to follow the Department of State’s photo requirements). If you’re not sure where to get your photos or need them quickly before your appointment with us, conveniently located across the street are a Walgreens and a CVS that can take your passport photo.

Our appointment times vary, depending on staff availability and can be arranged for anytime the library is open. We will work out a time that fits with your schedule and ours.

Ready to travel? Give us a call and make that passport appointment. We’ll help you get on your way!
