We’ve done it before and we’re doing it again. It’s time to pick up a blank canvas, take it home, and cover it with your artistic vision. Then bring it back to join its companions for Reed Memorial Library’s Tiny Art Show. See your art alongside your friends’, family, and neighbors’ on display for the whole community to enjoy! Keep reading for details.
We supply the canvas, you create the art. It’s pretty simple and it’s so much fun to see what everyone creates. This year’s theme is celestial. We’ve experienced a total solar eclipse, the northern lights, metor showers and plenty of astronomical events this year to inspire your art. Let your creativity run wild on that tiny canvas!
You may create with any medium you prefer: paint, pastels, collage, pencils, markers, pens, whatever you choose. The only rules are that you cannot change the dimensions of your art (that tiny 5×5 canvas) and that the finished work should be family-friendly.
Anyone age 12 and over may register for a canvas. Once you’ve registered, pick up your canvas at our checkout desk, beginning Monday, August 5th. Take it home, create your artwork and bring it back to the library no later than Saturday, August 24th.
The Tiny Art Show opens September 1st and will be displayed in the library gallery all month. We can’t wait to see what you create!
