What can you find at the Friends of RML fall book sale this Friday and Saturday? The real question is, what can’t you find?! Our library Friends have two large sales each year and this sale is chock full of book-loving goodness. Keep reading for details.
The book sale is set up in our meeting rooms and materials are divided much like regular library items: fiction by author’s last name, non-fiction by subject, children’s books, paperbacks, DVDs, etc. It’s a treasure trove to explore. Find a new read, buy a copy of that book you borrowed and loved, and collect your favorite authors and subjects. All proceeds go directly to fund library equipment, events, and materials, so it’s an easy way to support the library, too.
If you’re a member of the Friends group, you get early admittance to the sale, a very nice perk! The sale goes public at 11 am on Friday, September 19 and runs through 4pm on Saturday, September 20. It’s two whole days of browsing great buys on books, movies, audiobooks, and more.
Books are flat prices, regardless of the title, unlike some used book sales. The prices are so reasonable, too. For example, hardbacks are $1. Additionally, the Friends sort through all the donations to ensure materials are in good shape. This year, the Friends did get some special books and sets that will be priced separately from other items. These are unusual donations, like the complete, 6-season set of deluxe, collector’s edition DVDs of Xena, Warrior Princess (some unopened) and a vintage set of the classics library. While still a great buy, these items are priced a little higher than a buck.
We hope to see you at the sale. If you can’t make it this weekend, it’s not your only chance to get a great buy. The Friends’ bookstore is always open and stock is refreshed weekly. If you love books, come to the sale and the bookstore. If you love the library, consider joining the Friends. Membership is low-cost, comes with perks, and supports the library.
What do you hope to find at the sale?
