It’s October and that means it’s officially spooky season. Time for haunted houses, jack-o-lanterns, costumes, and lots of candy. We’re celebrating the season with events for all ages that are spooky but not too scary. Which one is for you? Keep reading to find out.
Interested in the weird and unexplained? Local historian, Wayne Enders, will share information and photos of UFO sightings in Northeast Ohio. Whether or not you’re a true believer, the records do exist and you can decide for yourself. All ages can join us Saturday, October 25th at 2pm for the slideshow and talk.
Saturday, October 25th is also the date for lots of treats. We’re participating in Ravenna Parks & Recreation’s Drive Thru-Trick or Treat. The event is free but you must register with Parks & Rec. Along with treats from many other community organizations, our staff will be handing out books and goodies to kids ages 2 to 14 years from 10am to noon. From noon to 3pm, we’ll hand out goodies at the library during the Ravenna Chamber’s Merchant Trick or Treat and Halloween Walk event. Stop by, show off your costume and get a treat!
Get the whole family ready for an evening of Halloween fun on Tuesday, October 28 at 6:30pm. Dress up in your costume and enjoy the spooky atmosphere, crafts, games, and activities for all ages at our Family Halloween Party. Take advantage of our photo ops to save the memories. Partygoers will also get goody bags while supplies last.
Adult D&D fans can have a spooky One-Shot Adventure on Thursday, October 30th at 6pm. Come and play in costume if you dare! Whether you’re an experienced dungeon crawler or brand new to tabletop RPGs, this session is the perfect way to try D&D in a fun, spooky setting. We’ll provide everything you need—character sheets, dice, and a Halloween-themed adventure full of creepy twists and chilling encounters. Reserve your seat at the D&D table and get ready to play.
There’s plenty of fun to be had during the spooky season and we hope you’ll join us for at least one of our events. The big question is, what costume will you wear this year?
