Do you enjoy decorating gingerbread houses and also a smidgen of madness? If so, consider participating in our community gingerbread house decorating project!

What is Gingerbread Madness?

This holiday season, we are partnering with Vista Veranda to host a city-wide gingerbread house takeover! Local storefronts will display participants’ gingerbread houses in their windows throughout the holiday months.

The gingerbread houses will be ready to view during Midnight Madness on Friday, November 25 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and will continue to on display through January 5, 2023.

By the way, make sure to join us for Midnight Madness this year! The library will have free hot chocolate, live reindeer, Santa storytimes, and more.

How do I participate?

To join in on the fun, simply decorate your own gingerbread house and fill out our Gingerbread Madness Participant Google Form so that we can hold display space for your creations. Our premade kits went quick and are already spoken for, but you can buy or bake your own. You are welcome to collaborate with family members, social clubs, or any other group arrangement.

If you are a local business and would like to display gingerbread houses in your storefront window, fill out our Gingerbread Madness Business Google Form. Transportation and setup will be provided, so all we need is your generous space!

When are the gingerbread houses due?

Gingerbread houses are due to the Reed Memorial Library between November 14 and November 21.
