Rising to the (Summer) Challenge

Our Summer Challenge officially ended July 30th and wow, did you work hard! In just eight weeks, you read over 430,000 minutes, completed almost 3,000 activities, and redeemed lots of prizes. 133 of you who read (at least) 28 hours completed the challenge and earned an “All Together Now” pin. Everyone who participated was eligible to earn points, redeem them for prizes, and was included in the grand prize drawing, held yesterday. Who won?

Have Wagon, Will Travel: Adult Outreach at RML

Most of us come to the library anytime we want; to borrow something, use a printer or computer, or just to enjoy a quiet space. But what if you couldn’t get here? How would you get books or movies, especially if you didn’t have internet service at home? Who would help you stay connected to the outside world, to continue learning?

A few weeks ago, we explained how our Youth Outreach team travels through the community to bring story trails, literacy and tech programs to children and teens. Did you know that we also have services for adults outside the library walls?

Middle Grade Books About Quirky Family Shenanigans

Is there a fictional family that’s near to your heart? Does your child enjoy books featuring families and their hijinks? This list is for you!

This list contains middle grade books about what we call “quirky family shenanigans.” Some of these books are mystery, while others are realistic fiction or contain some fantastical element, and some are brand new releases while others are classics. All of these contain a family dynamic, and often, they are named after said family and take place in a familial abode.
